Patrick Maurer is an award-winning motivational speaker and leadership coach with a proven track record of breaking through the everyday noise to transform campuses, communities, and individuals of all ages.

He is on a mission to not just inspire, but to actually empower. Patrick addresses the critical need to develop today’s leaders with the proficiency to make the most of their time and contemplate potential impact. Often hailed as “fresh” and “engaging,” he is known for his perfected approach of fusing real-life stories, humorous anecdotes, and his pop culture savviness with compelling topics. The result is an entertaining and authentic experience that is relatable, relevant, and real for any audience, from youth and youth leaders to advisors and professionals. This unique approach has earned him recognition as one of the best in his field, with a Certified Speaking Professional ® designation, an honor less than the top 10 percent of speakers earn worldwide. Patrick’s dynamic style pulls from 20+ years of in-the-trenches leadership experience and four years of improvisational comedy training. An experienced and trained California-certified high school English teacher, Patrick understands how to profoundly impact today’s youth. His messages are crafted to meaningfully affect their viewpoint, engagement, and well-being –factors widely recognized as having a direct correlation between a student’s preparedness for college, career, and life.

The depth and breadth of Patrick’s expertise stems from his own roots in student leadership. As a youth leader and Distinguished Governor of the California-Nevada-Hawaii District of Key Club International, his dedication garnered him the prestigious 4-year Leadership scholarship to Arizona State University (ASU). He continued this passion for leadership into college throughout his involvement and leadership in several organizations. Patrick was ultimately named Outstanding Male Leader of his graduating class of over 8,000 students at ASU.

Patrick continued to dive into leadership roles of his own over the years, making the choice to extend his work beyond solely teaching and facilitating leadership. He has since carried out leadership positions in notable organizations including his term as the 2012 Youth Chair of the National Speakers Association. Other highlights include a three year term on the 12-member volunteer council for the Sundance Film Festival, and President of the ASU Leadership Scholarship Program Alumni chapter.

Today, renowned organizations on a national level are successfully leveraging Patrick’s unparalleled approach and exceptional content, such as the National Association of Student Councils, FBLA-PBL, DECA, Key Club International, and Junior Civitan International. On a local and state level, countless schools and educators work with Patrick to evoke the same positive change in student councils, FFA’s, 4-H’s, and Key Club Districts. He reaches over 30,000 people annually, has presented in 43 states and 4 Canadian Provinces, and continues to field demand to expand geographically.

Patrick’s own leadership practice is still at work in many organizations. Organizations continuously seek him out to take on additional leadership roles and Patrick welcomes new opportunities to serve. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Kiwanis Club of San Diego and is also active on the board of the San Diego Chapter of the ASU Alumni Association.

Patrick lives in San Diego, California, with his wife, Jessica, and their cat, Cella. He enjoys sailing, cooking, Padres baseball, and cheering on his alma mater.
