The Chocolate Bar

So my wedding is quickly approaching (May 26th for those of you playing along at home).

Almost all aspects are now planned and I’m pretty much in the home stretch, except for the standard diet and exercise that goes along with a wedding.

First, I must say that my fiancee likes me just the way that I am. She’s okay that I don’t look like a covermodel for Men’s Health. She accepts me. This is good.

Still, I know those photos last a lifetime, and I’d prefer to be looking more like my best, than my current self.

So I’ve been (mainly) eating right and I’ve been exercising…

…but there is that chocolate bar.

I’ve eaten it. It tasted so good.

And it’s slowing down my progress.

Don’t get me wrong–I want to live a life where I still eat chocolate, and desserts, and have an ice cream from time to time.

But I also know, I’ve written far too many blogs about how I want to be in better health.

And the chocolate bar? It’s not a step in the right direction. It isn’t helping the cause.

Do you have the “chocolate bar” in your group? Is there that bad habit, that easy response, the you easily fall for–which is delaying your progress? No, it isn’t the end of the world if you continue to do it, but you’re also not going to get closer to your goal.

So tonight, let’s do our best to make the better decisions. Let’s strive.

(oh and if you see me before May 26, 2013, encourage me to be healthy for my special day!)
