Pixar Motivation

I spent some time today reading some articles on Mashable and stumbled upon a great video montage of the 25 years of Pixar. You can watch the full video here.

I’m a huge fan of the company and watching the video only heightened my admiration of them. Their films consistently reinforce positive ideals and tap into our heartstrings without ever feeling forced. I’ve been thoroughly entertained by every Pixar film I’ve ever seen (including the shorts) and have definitely enjoyed watching them my friend’s kids as they see them for the 1st or 101st time.

If you have a chance, rent the documentary The Pixar Story which highlight the early years of the company and its paths towards being one of the best animation companies ever created. I love how much Leslie Iwerks’ film features the initial “failures” of the founders of Pixar and how their diligence ultimately paid off.

Now 25 years later, we can look at a YouTube montage and recognize that work.

So today, take a moment. Listen to the great advice Pixar provides in its own films and remind yourself that your own journey wasn’t designed to be instantaneous. Pixar has learned through its trials and so will we.
